Review
"From its mobile Airstream trailer to its new brick-and-mortar home, Skillet serves up comfort-food hits (burgers and waffles and bacon jam, oh my!), which chef Josh Henderson now shares in this collection of recipes. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert are all on the menu, including the sweet cinnamon brioche French toast, the savory crab cake po’boy with lemon aioli and the sinful Skillet poutine."Seattle Magazine"...filled with favorite recipes from both truck and diner, and beautiful photos by Sarah Jurado. Henderson also weaves in his take on food safety laws, food quality in general, and the story of launching his high-end food truck in the days before everyone was obsessed with high-end food trucks. My biggest surprise as I flipped through the pages was how much thought and preparation go into these recipes, since the end result never feels overly complicated." Seattle Metropolitan's Nosh Pit blog"This isn't just hot dogs and bistro fare: it comes from a chef who has created an empire out of his dream to feed people satisfying food on the street when they need it, and packs recipes with photos, stories, and truck classics. From Cauliflower Scramble to Roasted Duck Legs, this is packed with easy dishes anyone can do from home, and is a top pick for any looking to produce gourmet fare in a small kitchen space."The Midwest Book Review

I have eaten there and so bought the bookthe recipes are great-simple to make- wonderful to eat and serve to family and friends
Great story telling, easy to follow recipes...delish food!!!A great addition to my "favorites" in my cookbook library! Thanks Josh!
I love this cookbook, the style of writing, the recipes and the overall feeling. I think it's great to get the story of the company and how skillet was built so to speak. Sometimes cookbooks can be pretty corporate feeling and this one has some soul....along with many recipes I want to get cooking! Cheers to a job well done and something different than the norm.
This cookbook is a treasure! As a huge fan of both the Skillet diner and food truck, I was ecstatic to see that the cookbook gives recipes for some of my favorite Skillet dishes! It also incorporates exciting new recipes that give comfort food a contemporary twist. This cookbook not only gives great meal ideas, it also provides an exciting look at the edgy, forward-thinking food culture of the Pacific Northwest. I definitely recommend adding it to your collection.
Oh my gosh I am in LOVE with this cookbook! I tried the Kale Caesar Salad and it couldn't have been more simple and clear to understand. I made it for company and it was a huge hit. I got raving reviews from them. I would recommend this book to absolutely anyone - regardless of cooking ability.
I have well over a thousand cookbooks, and this one is possibly the worst waste of twenty bucks I've ever ordered. It's more like a brag session than a cookbook, and there's not much to btag about. At one point the author talks about being close to going out of business until he started selling bacon jam, which is what sustains him. That being the case, why would anyone want to read about the part of his business at which he failed? To add insult to injury, rather than sharing the recipe for the bacon jam, he tells you where to go to buy it from him. Not to worry. I have my own recipe for bacon jam, and this book went to the curb with the rest of the trash.
