Bought this book for a course I was taking. Very interesting.
Great book...lots of history. How mexicans (first & second generations), were recruited from Mexico & southern states of the U.S.--in order to work for the Great Western Sugar Company. My grandfather (born & raised in Mexico); was one of those people recruited & worked as a sugar beet worker in the fields around the towns of Pierce & Greeley, CO during the 1920's.
This is a vital pioneering text that synthesizes previously uncovered ground and has done so well. Thank god!!! As a member of the subject class covered, i am overjoyed and have waited years for such a study. Thanks.
