I received a copy for review, but I liked it so much that I bought the book to support it.At first the story confused me because of the time lapse in which it develops, and because the characters I knew both in hunters and beings that have received a sigil, were not present.But quickly the story unfolds and the characters begin to acquire depth.I consider myself a dog person, but there is no way you can not identify with these cats, the argument itself is similar to other books in the series, but no less entertaining than other stories of this universe, reaching moments in which I was deeply moved by the bonds created between species that basically think similar and that give great importance to their "clan", as has always been the tonic in gregarious animals like humans, I felt joy, fear and awe, just like the characters... not an easy task for the author.Spoiler Alert!Seeing the hunters allying with humans, for me, is one of the highest points in the universe of the 4 horsemen, and even more, seeing how they recognize a pair in humans was the most exciting thing I've read in the last months, even so, there are some things that I found a little bit tricky, like going to earth to find big cats and wombs for rent... Alluding to the "ease" of using live organisms before incubation tubes ... the probability that species with different evolutionary paths are compatible for embryonic development, seems to me, is much more remote than using artificial means ... anyway the incorporation of a wrogul makes the choice of this path easy to overlook and the history didn't suffer at all.I highly recommend reading this story whether you are a cat lover or not, and even more if you have enjoyed the books of the fantastic universe of the 4 horsemen.Looking forward to the next book and ideally see how the alliance between humans, depik, trirusk and others kicks a few rat butts.Kacey and Marisa, you're going right to my favourite authors! Â
Great continuation of the Depik, fills in a lot of extra information and keeps you hooked for this and the other books in the Four Horsemen Universe.
Another excellent book from the grand Damas of the 4HU. Learn way more about our favorite Depiks, the assasin kitties!Learn more about the history of this fascinating race.
The story, the characters, the emotional affect is deep and lasting. You will enjoy having this in your collection. I did not want to set it down once i started reading it. I cried more than once. The authors did an amazing job at writing, i could not tell it had two different ones.
Kacey and Marissa once again hit a grand slam in this sequel to the 4 horseman novel assassin, it furthers the overall plot line for the series
The authors deliver yet another great story in the Depik arc, and one that delivers across all emotional fronts. Tragic, yet hopeful, after all seems lost. You don't want to miss this book, let alone any of its companions in a great collection of stories and characters. I'm very much looking forward to the next installment.
Great editing, plot development, world building, and character development. After reading the 20+ books in this series, you get used to certain characters, and a level of expectation. This book shatters this, and breaks your heart. The author skillfully twists your emotions, and at the end you are left exhausted and hopeful.
Very intense story of the Depik race and more of the Night Wind Clan. Digs deeper into the inner workings of the Depik and provides some provocative clues about how they came to be. Some of it is very subtle, so pay attention. This one ties in tightly to the Omega Wars, but the way it is written, you don't really need to read the previous books to be able to understand this one. However, you enjoyment will be enriched if you do.I loved it and I'm chomping at the bit to see what is coming next!
