I watched from the sidelines as Chris did his whole '21 day book' experiment. To be honest I thought he was going to fail magnificently. Honestly, who writes and publishes a book in 21 days? Apparently, Chris does. When this book came out I decided to buy it and make sure there was no voodoo involved. Surprisingly, there was none. No magic bullets either.Chris provides solid advice about how to launch a book successfully. The difference between him and most book marketing 'gurus' is that he tested his own advice (and has lots of witnesses) before deciding to share it.The guide isn't long but it has many gems within it including;- The 21 Day Experiment - what he did right and what he did wrong (so you can avoid the same pitfalls.- How to figure out what tier you're currently at and how to move into the next- How Amazon algorithms work- How to create your own launch plan and build buzz for your book- How to launch your book- How to put your book on autopilot after the launch so that it keeps selling and adding subscribers to your mailing list without too much heavy-lifting.There's a whole lot more. The advice he gives is not overly technical. Also, it isn't reserved for people who already have an extensive mailing list. Anyone can use it - whether you're still at zero or about to touch the sky.

Launch to Market provides author’s with some excellent ideas for marketing their books before, during and after the launch process. The system is based on Chris Foxs’ experience as a successful author and the launch of his fictional book Destroyer that went to the top of the bestseller list. I like how Chris writes the book for authors that are just starting out and haven’t yet wrapped their head around the marketing strategies they could be implementing. Chris explains the Amazon rankings as well and the ranking tiers that a book generally falls into. By understanding this, authors have a benchmark to aim for. As Chris clearly states: “Marketing is about figuring out who wants to buy what you’re selling, then making sure they know it exists."Launch to market doesn’t waste any time in getting into the meat of marketing your book. It describes the power of quality leads vs. quantity, conversion rates, and capturing traffic. As the author points out, the success of a book launch isn’t measured in book sales but platform. A single sign up to your list os worth far more than a single sale at 0.99 or even $10. The foundational theme with launch to market follows a simple process that will ensure your books are selling for years to come. That process is:- Keep getting your book in front of people even after the launch- Get them to buy it;- Collect email addresses so you can continue to sell future books- Put this on autopilot. This frees you up to write more books.Preparing for LaunchThis is my favorite part of the book. Nothing is more thrilling [and terrifying] for an author than actually launching the book. In this section Chris Fox explains the two choices authors have: either go exclusively with Amazon, or, publish everywhere. Also covered is:— the pros and cons of preorders— pricing your book— advertising the launch— Initial vs. immediate exposure on launch— including your Reader Magnet— setting up keywords and categoriesChapter 12 gets into the product delivery and setting up a lead page for conversion. There wasn’t any information here on HOW to set it up, just that the author uses BookFunnels fr delivery of the lead magnet. He recommends LeadPages although there are a few other good page optimization sites out there. Chapter 13 gets more advanced with segmentation, autoresponders, and building an email list. Chapter 15 moves into the long term strategies for authors and how to be authentic, serve your audience and build your business over the long term. A great way to end the book with a powerful message.Overall, this is really good book for authors, not just starting out but, even if you have a few books under your belt you’ll garner some value from Chris’ advice and marketing suggestions to launch.

I loved Write to Market. That book was chock full of actionable advice, reasoning behind the advice, and examples from his own writing.Launch to Market is a different book entirely. It's very short; I read it in half an hour. It provides a thousand yard overview of launch strategies, but only provides examples in passing.

I received an ARC copy of this book. As you can see, this is also a verified review. Why buy a copy too? Because the book is worth it.The author has done a fabulous job of laying out in detail and order the methods for launching a book to success, and then to building on that success to have bigger and better launches with each new book.Now, many other writers have talked in detail about one particular aspect of marketing. They might focus on Twitter for writers, or reader magnets, or something similar. Other writers have given a broad overview, intentionally leaving out specifics because the industry changes so quickly that specifics might not be as useful years from now, and they want the book to still sell years later.Chris Fox has given both the overview - and also specific, actionable, detailed plans for helping to build your launches. It's a blueprint, not promising immediate success for your next book. But rather his methods will help you improve with every launch, building and progressing as you go.This book is an *essential* tool. It belongs in the toolbox for every modern professional novelist.
